Meine WL-HDD gibt genau dasselbe.
Schoenes Uebersicht.
Thanks for this info.
I will stick with Oleg's fw, because the hassle to copy my current setup in openwrt is too much
So, I'll give obsolete zina a try.
@mutejute:
php-thttpd is running fine with me @ WL-HDD on /opt partition on harddisk, using Oleg latest 1.9.2.7-7b.
zina setup gives more trouble than joy. Saving the file zina.ini.php sets...
After upgrade my WL-HDD to 1.9.2.7-7b the same happened to me.
As I think it is not intuitive to go to another page for confirming
the update, my suggestion to Oleg would be:
Add a Finish...
I remember a few times having about the same issue with my WL-HDD.
Don't know the exact conditions anymore, but the result: lost settings
(those that were in the web configuration screen).

I had some limited success in turning off WL-HDD's internal Harddisk using Hdparm. Don't know whether external USB can be controlled as well.
Yes, that should have been my question
Every user has its own crontab, no user id inside.
Edit: I noticed too late that the system crontab has a user field. :(
Hi macsat,
thanks for another fine tutorial.
a few questions:
- what is "root" supposed to be in a crontab line? is it part of the command?
- i have running a crond already, it uses a...

omitting the clause altogether was OK.
Everything is fine now. Thx again
Fixed: Yes.
xinetd does indeed some usefull stuff: it starts vsftpd on demand :D
My problem was: I did not realize that xinetd is listening on port 21
and starts vsftpd when necessary. vsftpd...
Fixed: partly
Yes: I'm able to start xinetd process :)
?? : I'm not sure xinetd does some usefull stuf, such as starting vsftpd.
But that I have to sort out separately. I will...
- vsftpd had been started (as per vsftpd.conf) in Listen mode (but anyway, omitting it does no harm for the time being), reboot -> no vsftpd : OK
- S10xinetd is present
- "ipkg install xinetd"...
The results: (no xinetd, but no error message either)

Hi all,
Although using post-boot in flashfs enables me to do most things I have ever dreamt of  ,
I was wondering how to use the ipkg xinetd (or even the "native" inetd).
Note: relevant...
I have similar messages. Seem to be hackers trying to access via ssh, anonymous or public ftp. etc. :D
Keep your passwords safe, and all the usual stuff.
Keep log files (syslog, ftp)
Check...
To the best of my understanding, at least on of the USB applications has to be activated via the web interface.
You also could kill stupid-ftpd in post-boot of course.

Thanks, Antiloop, I got it.
Still one question remains:
I want to install the conf.tar.gz stuff to operate under ASUS firmware 1.2.3.4.
In this case, is it still necessary to install 1.1.2.8...
Hi All,
I'm searching for the download of the custom firmware, to install
at least telnet and vsftpd.
The link however does not work (somewhere I read: "Too much traffic for big files" ).

Does it make sense or is it possible at all to do the same with the WL-HDD?
Can I use the WL500g firmware to that effect?

I suspect having some weird settings hanging around after...
Yesterday, uploading/flashing WLHDD-1.9.2.7-4.trx I encountered the same.
Finally I was able to restore to fw 1.2.3.4 using the "trick" found elsewhere in the forum:
- set PC to fixed IP...
