I would suggest using VMware server (which is now free) and ubuntu instead of CoLinux.

The easiest way is to follow the instructions at http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/AddAPackageToOptware, and then we'll be happy to give you write access to the repository.
It is always a...
This means that the transmission package failed to build on the autobuilder machine.
Just manually download the latest ipkg and ipkg install it from the local directory.

Use 'install' instead of 'install-strip', and then use ${STRIP} to strip the binary afterwards.

It's just that no-one has time to track all the sources for all the packages. Once they are built and in the feeds, then it's up to individual package contributors (or users) to notice that there is...
WL-500gx is *definitely* USB 2.0 - note that USB 2.0 does *not* mean that the interface has to run at 480MBit/sec. USB 2.0 is a protocol definition which has a *maximum* speed of 480MBit/sec. USB...
Incentive for someone to contribute the MySQL support? ;)

All those things are true ...
... but it is small and cute :-)
... and they did leave telnetd running specifically so the unit could be hacked one assumes ...

I now have a WL530g. I have put some info in the wiki at :
http://wiki.wl500g.info/index.php/WL530g
Should there be a forum for the WL530g?

This saga is the reason why I preferred that Oleg release the ipkg package in his feed, and that it *not* be part of the unslung feed ....

libbt has the following error when compiled for wiley:
./libbt.a(random.o): In function `seed_rnd':

I used to have a couple of WRTs. Some might know my Dual Serial Port Mod page for the WRT (http://www.rwhitby.net/wrt54gs/serial.html).
I sold them and bought an Asus WL500g, and then an Asus...
The place to meet for Unslung packages - we are considering renaming them to "Optware" packages, cause they are now for both Unslung and Oleg's firmware (which we call WileyWare) - is in #nslu2-linux...
macsat,
Great HowTo's :-)

[Edit: didn't see the nslu2-linux links at first cause they were black, but realised they are all there - thanks.]
And a big thanks to Jean-Fabrice for taking on the job of Unslung/WL500g packages release manager, and performing it so well. It is good to see Jean-Fabrice and Josh (our Unslung/NSLU2 packages...
Antiloop, do you have any internal photos or internal specs?
I have just ordered one of these. It should arrive next week some time. I will be opening it up immediately to take some photos :-)

Hmmm - I don't think you can on FAT. You will need to partition the drive and make one partition a linux swap partition.

Agreed. But it might be a good temporary solution to be able to install a large package. Then you turn it off again (assuming the package fits in memory when it is running).
-- Rod
Note that you should really only use ipkg.sh *twice*, and you should only do it after you have made sure that /opt is located on an external storage device. The only two ipkg.sh commands you should...
All Unslung packages are designed to install everything under /opt, so "dest root /" is correct.
You might want to consider creating a swap file if you are running out of memory.

If you want a non-console serial port on the wl500g (e.g. for home automation), then the easiest way is to just plug in a pl2303-based usb to serial converter cable). I have sent Oleg a patch to...
