Thanks guys. Cron it is! I remember looking at it briefly (Wengi post) a long time ago. Getting forgetful in my old age. Could not find anything doing a search on this forum. Used unsuitable key...
Is there any way, via software, to have this router auto reboot at a set time each month?
Is the reboot time about 20sec ie as the WL500W?
It will be 'painful' to reboot after (nearly) every page.
Short review. Contains some screen shots. GUI looks like a big improvement over WL500 series

Just released (preorder) prices in...
You should easily be able to find an appropriate power supply on Ebay. Some come with multi plugs, one of which will probably fit the Asus. Otherwise just cut and solder your old plug

Is there a Useguide of some sort?
Not if you require dual band. There is a lot of wireless congestion in my area. Sometimes I can detect up to 30 tranmitters.
I'll wait until dual band available/functional.
That kills it for me.
What is the advantage of implementing the 2.6 kernel?
It's currently selling in China for Y1700, which is <USD280, although I suppose the markup will be higher outside the PRC.
By the time I retire my WL-500W the price will be much lower I hope....
Looks like an upgrade of a WL-500W.

+ lots of RAM :)
+ fast cpu :)
+ GigaBit LAN :) :)
Questions, if anyone can answer:
1) Does this router support 5GHz N wireless? ...

My preference is for something with a Broadcom chipset
eg a good and cheap one is a TP Link TD8810
Its a w/l router. No modem
Thanks. Are you aware of anyone who is doing anything with this Ruby ipkg?
Found the following only so far http://www.wingding.demon.nl/
Not sure whether or not this is the correct place to post, nevertheless -
I'm interested in running Ruby on my WL-500W / Oleg router.
I desire to create PABX functionality with a Ruby script...
The reason that I bought a WL500W was because at the time the v1 was not available AND the v2 was not yet suppported by third party firmware. However, I believe that the v2 is now fully supported.

Yes, simply picking Russian from the right bottom of the page fixed all. The odd thing was that about 25% was Cryillic even with English choosen, which led me to believe that it was a font...
Could someone please advise the fonts to download for Russian. I can read some of the Russian (Cryllic) but most is just gibberish.
thanks

Firstly thanks for a great package in that of Headstart 2. Made my use of Olegs great firmware even more productive. Follows are some comments and questions.

Good stuff. Thanks.
I've always wondered why Oleg stuck with the look and feel of the Asus firmware. Still do.
Reading some other posts I get the impression that there may be some changes to...

Use Access Point mode ie in the Asus.
This will make all 5 Ethernet ports and wireless devices set to locate in the same local area network. No WAN related functions will be supported.
Hence...
NFTS is specific to M$ Windows. Asus routers run Linux. You have to run a hard disk (Fat 32 or ext2 or ext3) through the Asus' USB port. Use Transmission for torrents.
