Nope, don't think so (2x)
Looking at your sketch again I do wonder why you need the WL-HDD in between - is the distance too big from WL-500g to your Noxon? I hope you are not planning on running any application on the WL-HDD...
I have a very similar setup using WDS. Works without a glitch, no WPA though. I use it to hook up a KiSS DVD-player with ethernet port to my wireless network.
No, it just shares everything under part1/dmsf_share or somesuch. Probably you can change this in a text file in /tmp/dmsf/
That should work, although something like
http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/44620
is a lot more versatile for just a Euro more :-)
I would be very careful with that, especially as long as you're...
You could also try the firmware that turns your WL-HDD into a WL-HMD ( http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=4934 ). I have a WL-HMD and it formats its partitions in ext3. The media server is of no use...
It would be nice to future people having this same problem, if you gave a short description of what worked for you (or at least to another post that does)...
Nice to hear that it worked, OgeGOon!
I am, by the way, very much interested in the files she sent you. Could you forward her mail to me, so I can upgrade my HMD? Thanks!
Hi,
Did you manage to solve this issue eventually? I am very intersted in doing the same from my wl-hdd.
Thanks!
Wild guess: your WL-HDD does not get access to the wireless LAN (eg. due to WEP-settings or MAC-filtering), so it will go into AP mode and through DHCP screw up the wireless settings of the clients...
It's not a very scientific method, but almost all Google search results for "BRCM4702" say 150MHz :)
HTH, cheers.
By the way, when 'installing' the telnetd:
You have a few Ext2/3 partitions available, which means you can put the binaries there and change permissions. this wouldn't work with Fat or similar,...
See http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=42 ; by default, there's no telnetd running.
Same probl;em as my second box, I guess. What I find curious is that partition 2 still exists, but somehow got...
Hi,
One more thing: the media software seems to reside in partition 2 on the disk, which is mounted to /tmp/dmsf :
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2 on /tmp/dmsf type ext3 (rw)
The...
1) to get the DiXiM media client software to run correctly, I had to edit a .ini file in the application dir (on the WinXP computer running the client application. Change the 1 in the before-last...
Hi OgeGOon!
I am playing with the same box atm. They sold it as "ASUS 40GB Wireless LAN HDD 802.11G,54Mbps", for a very good price (Eur 50,- incl. a 40GB 5400RPM hdd).
From searching Google and...
Hi,
Does anyone have the answer to my question?
To rephrase: Using telnet and this post I have created two files on the hard disk of my WL-HDD / WL-HMD:
flash, 3866624 bytes
pmon, 262144...
... the current firmware version is not on the CD (1.2.3.6).
So my quiestion becomes, is it possible to use the files I save in the manner described above, as an 'image' to feed to this firmware...
Hi,
First of all: what an absolutely great support forum, this!
Before flashing my new wl-hdd2.5 with new firmware, I would like to have a way back. The firmware that was installed by default...
