Lan Port 2 and 3 stopped working.
Tried another powersupply of the same specs
tried a reset
The leds of all lanports light up when switching on, but port 2 and 3 dont stay on when connected to a...
defective powersupply perhaps.
try another one with at least the same specs if possible.
Seems to be some kind of design thing in the oleg firmware.
You can solve it by changing the hostname to something with a dot in it.
wl500gp -> wl500gp.something
or e.g.
wl500gp ->...
stof tussen de koelribben blokkeren de luchtstroom
even een stofzuiger op de opening zetten of flink erin blazen (doe wel je ogen dicht)
If you ping from your windows7 machine it will look at the host file of windows7
if you ping from your router it will look at the host file from the router.
Thus be sure to add the entries to...
No, that wouldn't help. (unless your current powersupply is flaky)
This combo harddrive/enclosure draws too much power for the asus.
I can only suggest the following:
-Try another...
It means the wl500gp is not delivering enough power for the drive/enclosure
A powered USB hub would solve the problem.
That's hard to say...
If you have the possibility try a good powersupply first. you might be lucky.
Otherwise you have to open the asus router. If you remove the rubber feet you probably find...
The powersupply should deliver 5V and at least 2.5A.
You possibly damaged your router by using a 12V power supply.
You can read it on the sticker on the bottom of your router.
Suppose your original powersupply died and the other power supply doesn't meet the specifications or is dead as well.
Otherwise you need to inspect your router for any blown capacitors or the...
i think hdparm can do it, but you need the oleg firmware
All what is running on your asus writes something to log files periodically. Thus this will keep your harddisk awake.
You might consider using a small silent harddisk to put your running programs...
kijk je file /tmp/resolv.conf file eens na.
hier moet zoiets instaan:
nameserver 195.241.48.33
Het kan ook zijn dat het ip adres in resolv.conf niet meer
actueel is.
Gewoon DHCP uitschakelen op je wlhdd.
wat bedoel je met:
Waar moet ik de WLHDD dan opzetten?
0,25A???? Bedoel je niet 2,5A?
Maybe install timezone utility? Just a guess..
-ipkg update
-ipkg install tz
-Goto the /opt/share/zoneinfo folder and find
your timezone location. Copy this location to the
folder...
Zo te horen toch iets met een voedings probleem.
Dit kan ook vanuit de asus zelf komen. Als ie buiten garantie is kan je 'm open maken en kijken of er condensators bij zitten met een bol kopje....
Also open your asus router and look for domed capacitors
if possible try another powersupply before you start soldering
I would stick to version 4 as this works out of the box. The later versions don't work or need fiddeling.
Maybe this link will help you:

Are you using an usb hub?
-Try to switch the usb ports
-Use fstab to mount the devices

Extra ram is most likely not going to increase ftp speed.
Try ftp with a minimum amount of daemons loaded.
Then you know what the maximum speed is you can get.
which is probably exactly the same...
Does unhiding your SSID make a difference?
The story with hardware:
Either it fails quickly after you bought it, or it fails after years of use.
Do some writing tests under ubuntu before you start defragging.
If i where you i would quickly make a backup of your disk.
It is not unlikely your disk is about to fail.
if you didn't change anything to your configuration(no cable switching or removing cables...
