From a bunch of articles I read online, since I use PPPoE, The correct value for PPPoE should be 1454 (HEX=5ae).

Well, I found out that it was a nvram problem.

Had to flash it first clearing the nvram, then the recovery, then the new firmware.

That allowed me to use admin/admin to log in.

I just installed WL500gx-1.9.2.7-10.trx of olegs. It is up and running, but I don't know what the default login and password is!

I tried admin/admin and every combo therein.. but no go..

Oleg's firmware topped out at a whopping 98Mbits for box to box transfer:

(Server Side, Gentoo 2.6.x kernel + vsftpd)
(Client Side, XP box running LE_FTP passive)

dd-wrt topped out around...

I get 90~99mbits wired, and 21mbits for wifi.

I use the latest Oleg version.

I mucked with my MTU; make sure the two computers have the same MTU.

I was mucking with the firmware, installed dd-wrt, which ran well, but I couldn't get my printer to work under it, and so I switched to the latest Oleg firmware.

Question, has anybody benchmarked...

well, it ended up that I read somewhere (after like 4 hours worth of searches) that you might have to press the reset button after you've flashed the router if the previous flashed firmware was...

I tried all that was listed, still couldn't get it to print, so I went back to the old firmware.

I did notice that downloads from the internet were better with dd-wrt, but transfers between two...

I changed my firmware to dd-wrt.. it seems faster, but I was wondering if anybody has gotten USB printing to work on it.. if not, I might have to go back to the old firmware because I need printing....
