Instructions:

1)skip to step 5 if you updated openssl and libcurl recently.
2)ipkg update
3)ipkg install openssl
4)ipkg install libcurl

5)download and unzip:

6)copy the ipk file to /opt folder on your asus
7)edit the file /opt/lib/ipkg/lists/optware
and remove the lines belonging to transmission

-ipkg install /opt/transmission_2.11-1_mipsel.ipk (or install the previous compiled version)

From my point of view the real new thing of 1.5 is IPv6 support, is there anything more ?

I looking for a good torrent client to fill my new HD. I'm not sure which one to choose. I pay attention to the following points :

• Efficency, should work with the limited capacity of wl-500gx.
• Configurability, priorities and limits.

Interface is not important, command line is ok.

Any advices ?

Transmission is still under heavy development, but i guess it has the best future.

Hi !! I have installed transmission_1.50+r7789_mipsel.ipk and it was working just fine until I have noticed that after a while ( one hour or so ) the process stops by himself . Any idea why is happening this ? :(

Suggestions:

Any clues in the logs?
Disk full?

Try running transmission in the foreground with the -f switch,
maybe you will see what happens.

Did you update openssl and libcurl?

Try the older version.

Funny thing. I have deactivated the ppoe relay function and now it is working ....

Strangely, every zip archive is corrupted for me. Repeated download and tried with winrar, winzip, 7zip… Avberk, can you check the zip archives please?

checked. zip file is ok. empty your browsers cache. maybe that helps

Thank you for quick reply. Cleared IE cache but with same result. As I have allready tried on another PC with same error, I gave a shot with different browser – Opera. As suspected, download is now fine :D (bloody Microsoft):mad:

Many thanks for posting the 1.5 version. I installed the 7789 version when it was first posted. Seems to work so much better than 1.4x on my WLHDD. I had a number of partial downloads sitting stalled showing zero peers - they sprang to life once I upgraded to 1.5. The download speeds seem better too.

This is caused by an RPC interface change recently made by the transmission developers which requires a client change. I've updated transmission-remote-dotnet to work with it, but you'll need to use the binary from svn (the stable, 3.6 as of now supports up to 1.51). Overwrite your existing 'Transmission Remote.exe' (ie. with the dll's) with this file:

How to set limit for active downloads?
Like in old, 1.22 version - e.g. set 2 active downloads and starting next when one of them is finished.

I noticed v1.5.2 has been released over at transmissionbt.com - would you mind compiling their source as an ipkg ?

I've removed the old transmission and installed build 8235 however ran into two issues;

-My settings.json is in a separate location and I load it via the -g option in my startup script however it appears the upload and download settings aren't loaded (via web config)
-When I open transmission remote gui (the dot net client) with the latest build (from this thread) I get the error reported here; http://code.google.com/p/transmissio...s/detail?id=36

I've reverted to the old transmission build (1.51-1) and will investigate a possible settings.json change

As a heads up RC1 of 3.7 of transmission remote (.net client) works with the latest build in this forum however the latest build appears to have a problem loading the upload/download settings from the settings.json file. I know the correct settings.json file is being used for two reasons;

- reverting to the previous build with the same startup script all features work as expected
- after upgrading to the latest build the new transmission option (alternate download rate) have been added to the settings file.

Is there a new build available? - is the latest build posted on this forum actually 1.52?

Find attached the 'official' 1.52 version. Maybe this works for you. I haven't tested it.

The 8252 build exhibited the same issue however the 'official' 1.5-1 didn't i.e. the official build works.

8252 still had issues picking up the upload limit.

I've added a bunch of new features into transmission-remote-dotnet. It now uses almost all the new rpc features in the 1.60 beta. Here's the ones I can remember :)

* samba integration (button to open torrent if you've shared your download dir)
* putty integration (i have a script it runs which unrars things)

great work guys, I have it installed and it looks terrific and polished. yet to install v1.6 beta however your remote app caused me to stay with the transmissionbt app. they should distribute this as a part of the official release.

I am still getting 404 error after installing transmission 1.60, I thought the problem was fixed? Would it matter if I change my ip address to something different in configuration it says 192.168. i change it to 182.165. to my settings. Would that matter I dont think so. But wengi's last post says that:
the block list will take a week to be fixed.

If you're getting a 404 error you should set the TRANSMISSION_WEB_HOME environment variable before starting it.

I released transmission-remote-dotnet 3.8 today with some quite important bugfixes, a couple of nice new features and russian translation. It's also necessary to support the X-Transmission-Session-Id recently introduced in svn to make cross site scripting attacks difficult.

Nice gui for transmission, keep it up :) I wanted to ask what to do with 409 error, where should i put this session id header, in which file and what should it contain.

You shouldn't need to do anything, just use 3.8. When a request is made without the session id header, Transmission returns a 409 which includes the value of the header. transmission-remote-dotnet should retry automatically with the header and keep using it from then.

I have weird problem with transmission 1.61. When I want to upload torrent file from my pc, I select tor file and nothing happens. But when I upload it somewhere else and enter that url in transmission, torrent start normally???

Same problem . Anyway you can upload "manually" by copying the torrent file to the torrent directory. It works only after a restart.

Since version 1.50, when I start Transmission, CPU usage is almost always high, even with just one active torrent.
I've already reduced the peer limit, but didn't solve the problem.

Can you give some advices to reduce Transmission CPU usage? Is there any setting that I shoud use to reduce CPU usage?

I've updated to Transmission 1.61 (8420). Now, Transmission can't get blacklist file. After it starts (I see it via ps or top) it terminates after 10 second. What should I do?

Also can anybody tell me, where Transmission writes it's logs? And how to configure Transmission to write logs? In /opt/var/log/syslog.log is nothing about it.
