Maybe that's because i use a large MySQL database and i increased to the double my PHP memory and SQUID cache.
large databases shouldn't really give you a higher memory usage... only when you set the mysql buffers higher. on a normal pc they are set to take up like 128-512mb ram or something, since ram reads quite a lot faster:pQuote:

Is Asus downclocking or restricting the speed or is the speed just not measured correctly?
And why is it reporting a BCM4716 and not a BCM4718 as I've opened mine and it definitely is a BCM4718 under the heatsink?
MIPS =Million instructions per second. This tells you how many instructions the processor can handle per second.
Mhz is just a frequency. If the frequency is higher the number of instructions will also rise, but only MIPS tells you the true capabilities of the processor.
BCM4716??
Could be the program you are using to detect the chip is too old and therefor is not aware of the newer chip. Try a different program perhaps.
If you log in to http://ip of your RT-N16/Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp
and introduce the command cat /proc/cpuinfo the output is what I posted, no program was used only the routers firmware.
But I thought BogoMIPS reported the real speed of the cpu in MHz as on other routers I have.

I used to get over 144mbit and now it's all below 54mbit and sometimes slightly higher...

I get speeds over 10mb/s on dd-wrt

sorry if there are any daily users/fans of dd-wrt, but it honestly gives me a headache.
after lot of hacking I have my lighttpd running, not with eaccelerator since it didn't want to compile nor run...
got some results as well for that.
php generation on pages can be between 2-4 times faster than my wl500-w with exactly the same setup (apart from eaccelerator which could make it even faster)
oh and lly and theMIROn, please finish oleg for the rt-n16 soon, since dd-wrt is quite unbearable :p

Hi everyone, just new here in this forum and got some Q's regarding the RT-N16:
- Will there be dedicated forum on this site?
- Anyone knows an ETA of Oleg's FW for this router?
- Any experiences with regard to throughput when connected to an Airport Extreme receiver?
- I'd like to use the RT-N16 as a minimal webserver with ssh/sftp and samba for a USB stick plugged in one of the USB ports, + want to run a bittorrent does that sound feasible?
- Can one connect a webcam to the USB as a security cam, for example?
- What other router could do this stuff?
- Any chance to get this thing debianized?
Any infos are highly appreciated!!! This seems a neat community and a fun device for developing...

Can´t access ionline.pt and correiomanha.pt from netcabo Lisbon with this router (rt n16) with Teddy bear´s Tomato.
Yesterday all was fine with asus wl500gp with tomato victek.
Replaced now with WL500gp, everythings fine again.
Any idea

Have you tried opening those pages on RT-N16 with other FW? ASUS Original for example....

That could be the problem, maybe for some reason those IPs are being blocked by the router.

I finally measured the temperature from STOCK and NEW cooler after 1 hour of use and those were the results:

I believe it´s not only Tomato related but ALSO Tomato Victek related since the other router (wl500gp) had a little dificulty opening correiomanha.pt (sometimes it would even time out) but if we hit F5 the page would load.
