So far no problems with 1.9.2.7-7d. Working fine :)
Hm... According to your syslog, everything is OK, and you've pppoe connection, not dhcp. Also, this log is not for -7d version for sure... Please flash -7d and save correct log.Quote:

According to your logs, you're running wl500g deluxe (not the wl500g). Also, according to your logs the box is connected to your ISP and working fine. Could you please clarify your problems?Quote:

Try to figure out the reason, i.e. from your PC type:
nslookup www.wl500g.info
ping www.wl500g.info
tracert www.wl500g.info
if something failed - telnet to router and type
nslookup www.wl500g.info
ping www.wl500g.info
traceroute www.wl500g.info
Post your results here.
P.S. I've PPPoE connection to my ISP, everything is working fine.

When 54g Protection gets enabled in 7e, no wireless client can connect to the station.
It seems the clients are assigned only IPv6 adresses via DHCP - then again, syslog does not show any DHCP request from them anymore.
Unchecking it again does not solve this - only a reset to factory defaults does.
This doesn't sound too good, too:

Hello all,
I am new into this community and I decided to try upgrade firmware in my WL500G Deluxe ...
BUT ... when I upgrade to version: WL500gx-1.9.2.7-7e or any other, I am unable to set up my internet connection, so I had to downgrade back to version: 1.8.2.1 - because it is only ONE, where I am able set my internet connection
In version 1.8.2.1 I do follows after downgrade and complete reset: in Quick guide I choose Home gateway, cable modem connection with auto IP assigment, auto IP and DNS, in hostname and mac adress I fill in same: 0011e3548fb5 - reboot and it works ... in ANY other version doesn`t
In ANY other newer version my WL500Gx doesn`t receive IP adresses from my cable modem.
For setup I am using web interface.
Tried search these forums, but find anything what could help me ...
Thank you for any help or suggestions...
Luke
SOLVED ...
I just did same upgrade again to the Olegs latest drivers ... after upgrade i did complete restart of router (pushed button on the back side), didn`t setup anything and it works now ...
I don`t understand it ...
Does exist any manual to all those new functions in Olegs firmware?
Thx @ll
Luke
firmware version 1.9.2.7-7e
I followed the guide lines of "Ssh and telnet daemons" @ "http://oleg.wl500g.info/", but I still can't get dropbear to start at boot. I have to connect with telnet, and manually run dropbear before I can use ssh. I use Gentoo on my pc, and I am used to the easy Initscripts to load daemons @ bootup. Any suggestions will be gladly taken.Thank You For Your Time

I had firmware 7b running with a USB stick attached to a usb-hub. (with 1 swap and 1 ext3 partition)
After following the macsat manual for setting up a usbstick/website etc I could mount it with the post-boot script posted below:
But now, with version 7e all my disks are gone and I can't find where and how to mount the usb stick and setup stuff as it was. /dev/discs/disc0/part1 does not exist, /dev/scsi is empty.Code:#!/bin/sh
# wait for /opt to mount
mount /dev/discs/disc0/part1 /opt
i=0
while [ $i -le 30 ]
do
if [ -d /opt/etc ]
then

sleep 1
i=`expr $i + 1`
done
# Activate swap
swapon /dev/discs/disc0/part2
dropbear -j -k -p 2222
# Run all active services - active means starts with S
/opt/etc/init.d/rc.unslung
Any idea where things have gone? Oleg?
How can I install sftp package? I am using built-in dropbear. Where can I get sftp module? I do no see anything when I doQuote:

I found out that if I insert a FAT partitioned usb stick right after flashing it seems to generate all devices (not so with the ext3 and swap partitioned disk. When I reinsert the ext3 and linux swap partitioned disk it is recognised. Now all works fine.
Hallo,
Im trying to configure my PDA (HP55xx) after router frmware update from previous OLEG version to current.
(on previous everything works fine)
PDA is working with .11b WPA-PSK/TKIP, but is unable to connect to router. I see in "Status & Log - Wireless" only MAC adress, no "associated" and no "authorized" msg.
Router is set to auto mode, .11g protection as was on previous firmware version. But when I change to "802.11B only" my PDA is successfully connected.
I tryed resets to factory defaults and set completely from "zero point" but still same - no G and B in one moment.
Could someone help me please?
Edit: Asus WL-500g Deluxe, working as home gateway

I have a wl-hdd and put this firmware on it. Now i am not able to make shares on de hdd anymore with te webinterface.... someone can tell me how to do this ?
Carlo
It seems to me, as if with the latest firmware version (7e) a post-boot file, which has been copied to the flash, will not be executed properly. When I put the 7c-version on my WL-HDD again, the difficulties were gone.
Would be fine, if Oleg fixed that.
Hello,
I don't know for previous versions, but with 7e with post-boot and post-firewall scripts to open to WAN I can't access ftp until I enable Super user account and then once login with super user. After that I can login with users on user account list from WAN.
And another issue with external USB disk (FAT32). Once per day I have disk disconnection
System log:

Jul 24 22:39:08 kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:04.0-1 address 2

Hello I've got a problem with the new 7e release. One of the computers I have stops transferring data packs from or to the router if I'm playing a game (.exe file). Its only with games because when I'm browsing or whatever it doesn't stop transferring data packs. He even looses its IP when I try to /ipconfig lease /ipconfig renew (after I played a game). There is only one way to get the IP back, and that is a reboot. And it is only with one computer (both integrated NIC cards), the other ones just work fine. And I didn't got this problem with the previous releases. And in the log files there is says that there is no request.
The NIC is a Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
Probably same problem here! Marvell Yukon integrated Gigabit Ethernet card stops sending packets. Renew of IP adress didn't help. Complete reboot of PC helped. I tried to set my Marvell Yukon to 100mbit full duplex (instead of Auto Sense) and it seems to be okay now.
EDIT2: Speed setting didn't helped at all, but I realized, that I can only DISABLE and then REENABLE my Marvel Yukon and it's working again... (for a while)
Is it possible to add a new feature to the next firmware release.
I'm looking for a feature that keeps my adsl2+ line alive. It can be something that pings a server every 15 seconds or something like that.
I test that firmware but the motion detection is still not working with my logitech quickcam 4000.
Is there any explanation about this problem ??
Thanks
