The question is, why are there two screenshot-files of the write performance on the desktop at the second read-screenshot? ;)
I guess the first was taken after a while, where hggomes said, the speed dropped.
Then they retook the write-screenshot and the read-screenshot right after the start. :D

I mean... routers can go as wild as you want, you can build them yourself with a lot more juice, but this RT-N66u sure looks good for a consumer router.

If you were talking about a Routerboard RB1100AH with Cavium > 1GHZ CPU then it's another story, now a Atheros 400MHZ its not camparable to RT-N66U.

the router uses around 10-11W, just like the netgear N900. the wan-lan and lan-wan speeds are pretty much the same.
The wifi speeds are however a lot faster on the rt-n66u:)
with a WLAN to LAN performance of 229Mbit/s over 5GHz with an intel Centrino 6300agn card:D
no idea where they've got these results from tho:rolleyes:
I'm still waiting for a decent USB transfer rate test :)

first of all they say that asus always had poor network products (mainly because of the firmware) compared to other routers... seriously?:mad:

But only from the outside of an antenna you can't deduce how much metal it contains, to transmit. There are several cases, where the manufacturers build huge plastic-antennas containing a little 1cm long cable. In comparison the ouput-power of a outwards smaller-looking antenna was higher.
That means to me, that visual comparisons are useless (unless we'll slice it - but who wants to do this?). :cool:

What about that ASUS? 20mb/s read / write? Since when?? Not even close...
Impossible 66mhz (or 120mhz => in case of RT-N16 working at 480mhz) doing that over the same CPU arquitecture, the difference between RT-N16 and RT-N66U CPU power its only a few MHZ :(

Only testing we will know ;) But im sure soon will be available a "complete" version of this firmware with 5GHz and Guest SSID etc etc. I was suprised with Tomato Shibby FW, it has ALOT of options (even statistics graphics), its really awesome.
Detachable antennas only work at 2.4GHZ right? The 5GHZ antenas are inside right (built in)? You cannot use other antennas with 5GHZ?!?
PS: When will arrive yours? ;)
