Thanks Oleg. I`ve tried what you suggested. I put wireless channel from
auto to 6 .this seems to be working now, also I`m using a zyxel 645r modem set in bridge mode and i`ve set the wan connection in the wl500g to 100 full duplex sometimes my connection ceases and will then pick up again, i`m going
to try it at 10 full duplex. this is the revision info for my wl500g. Thanks again for your good work! all I need to do now is get the web server, ftp, samba etc
working properly! regards jelly.

Hello,
I have a WL-500gx, which firmware should I use ?
http://files.wl500g.info/asus/custom...1.9.2.7-6a.zip
or
http://oleg.wl500g.info/WL500g-1.9.2.7-6a.3.trx
Thanks
6a.1, 6a.2, 6a.3 are no longer available for download. Use 6b instead.
test :)
6b
int, it should work fine, as it mostly just a rebranded 6a.3, with except of printer fix :)
(Where) can we read more about it Oleg?
In the sources. :) The problem was that you got "no such device" in the log during the printing attempt, while the printer is detected and displayed on the status page.Quote:

It's already there: Wireless | Advanced | Extended mode > Ethernet Bridge.Quote:

I will continue to test after 72h of working and post my conclusions.
After some use of the 6a.3 ( ~72hours ) the firmware it seems stable and no resets, reboots or problems from services.
Once again just to remember my test's are using the WL500g with 1 connection in LAN and 3 WLAN connection WPA-PSK/ AES+TKIP ( 2 AES broadcom chip 802.11g and one 1 TKIP intel 802.11b ), with FTP server, DYNDNS and a print service port 9101.
Thank you Oleg for this fix, works fine now with the auto negotiation enabled.Quote:

Thanks for developing this firmware since the begining :)
Hi Oleg!
I use the new v1.9.2.7 CR6b firmware a few days. It's very stable, no restart, no slow down on auto negotiation mode, but the connection time is invalid in the future too.

Have you assigned LAN Hostname to your router and enabled samba? Yes, samba is changed in the 1.9.2.7-6, but it's still works fine. :) For r/w access use share$Quote:

After changing from 1.9.2.7-6.3 to 1.9.2.7.6b after a few days without any problems, I am having disconnections again. Are there any differences between those 2 firmwares?
Please take a look at my logfile.
THX
I'll do the upgrade tonight and will post my impressions later...Quote:

I did [flashfs enable] to restore my previous (samba) settings (/etc/smb.conf is back again) and I had to set my LAN name again.
The deamons are up and running, I get no errors in the /var/log files, /tmp/harddisk works fine, but I can't browse \\192.168.1.1\.
Update: the first problem had to do with the fact that my LAN name was the same as a machine name (that's what you get when you have to do the complete config again).
After that I could browse *something* but it sure wasn't my disk.
The logfile revealed the password file error, so setting
encrypt passwords = no
in /etc/smb.conf did the job.
talking about all things new....has anyone tried the new intel wireless drivers (9.0.2.0) with olegs superb firmware?
the command wl txpwr1 -1 which is supposed to set things to default
sets txpwr to 255
in cr6b and possibly others
Hi Oleg
6b is working here since 11 Days now, and stable even with doing lots of software trys on ipkg packages, so stable as hell for me.
But, my Terratec Webcam Pro is still not working, giving "Webcam capture no Frame" error repetedly in the logs, and showing lightgreen color all over the camserv generated pictures. Refering to here this is broken quite some time now and i have no other cam at the moment, so i am in need for a fix. Maybe a newer Version of the 2.xx Driver series for the OV51x Chips fixes this problem ?. I may remember had it working on some quite old Firmware, but i dont know which one it was, sry.
As a sidenote, disabling buttons for the 3 Print Servers form the Web iface would still be nice to gain some more memory, as we have lots of optional software now that can be enabled ...

I'm too lazy. On the other hand, if you've some packages running already, then you could easily add killall to the post-boot. That's the point. :)Quote:

Hi i have two WL500GX. One is like AP with hybrid mode and the second was like client. I have upgraded the old firmware on 1.9.2.7CR6b and the client doesnt work. When i set the client to WDS mode it work but the speed is very slow. Has anything changed with client ?? My client setup was > Operation mode Acess Point, Wirelles bridge only ap, wirelles advanced Ethernet bridge tryied Station to. With this setting has with old firmware worked .. i tryied conect to telnet and putted in console wl scan wl scaresults i cant see the network. Can somebody help me?
Thanks for the note about new version. I tried it today, and so far it works really well - the transmission speed dropped by about 10% on the edge of the signal - but reliability went up incredibly. At the same spot I had about 40% packetloss before and 1% now (at ~100kB/sec speed). Finally usable in whole house ;)Quote:

Thanks for the info about this new version. I'm using the 9.0.2.0 intel drvrs right now with the ASUS 1.9.4.0 fw version and WPA2-PSK/TKIP. So I guess it will work fine with Oleg's firmware.Quote:

Please can this bug be fixed, or did I something wrong when I upgraded?
Thanx
