samba is quite a heavy protocol you know...
and transmission requires hashing (generating checksums) which is also a cpu intensive job:)

i am trying to get transmission to only download/upload after 12 midnight
till 8am i have tried settings in web gui and transmission remote but it still downloads all the time ?
do i need to edit the settings file or something as well ?

You can start and stop the transmission service with a cron script.
simply usewengiCode:/opt/etc/init.d/S90transmission-daemon start
/opt/etc/init.d/S90transmission-daemon stop

This will be two seperate lines in crontab.

When I try to start transmission-daemon, I get "User defined signal 1" and nothing happens:(

I've been trying to find the answer how to change the transmission folder to be read/write enabled so that I can easily move and upload files in the samba network. Right now I don't have any permission to even access the folder and I've set all the settings in samba to be read/write so don't know whats wrong?
It should works.
first check permission to folder and set
chmod 777 "dirname"
chroot admin:root
if this wont work, try to access to folder over ftp, to debug if problm is in samba.

I am looking for a way how to make Transmission to set user and group nobody to all new files being downloaded. How to do it?
The reason why is that I want to be able to move them around and have same properties as all other files do and so when accessed from FTP to be readable... If possible I don't want to do it post download with some script containing chown...
Now all new downloads are user:admin group:root 644
The other question, I tried to change umask in settings.json but after restart it became the same again e.g. now is 18 (~022), I try to change to 2 (~002?) but after restart of transmission in settings.json is again 18... Any idea why it is changing back?

For umask in transmission: try stopping transmission before setting umask in settings.json. Restart transmission afterwards.

Latest transmission (1.93-1), latest firmware (1.9.2.7-d-r1612), config script from Wengi's How to - crashes just after starting any torrent.

Just updated to 2.01 (via ipkg) some days ago, now i have the problem that i dont have any context menu in the Webgui anymore.
If i right click a torrent nothing happens.
I had 1.93 before and there i had a context menu where it was possible to Trash torrents incl. their data.
Has somebody else such a problem or do i have to change some comfiguration.
I treid it on Mac with Firefox, Chrome and Safari. On Windows i tried it with Firefox, so it seems that this isn't a Browser related problem.
Also the Open Button does not work anymore.
You probably already know about these nice programs.
They are both remote GUIs for Transmission. The first is both for windows, Linux and Mac. The second seems more updated and contains more features, but is only for windows

Yeah i know this tools, but this would only be a workaround for my problem.
If it worked in 1.92 it also has to work in 2.01 i think.
Problem solved by a "ipkg install transmission -force-reinstall"
I exactly didn't knew where to post it so I'm doing it here:) The problem is minor but quite annoying from my point of view. In System log you can see all operations tkat transmission-daemon did/does from binding port to saving files. My question is: Is there a way to make tkis logs shorter, what i mean is that this info about saving file isn't that necessary. Here's what I mean:

I have searched and goggled for a script that automatic unrar rar-archives when transmission have finished downloading.
It does not seem straight forward, so if anyone has played around with such a script or a different solution for automatic unraring I would appreciate some help.
