FritzBox7050 mit WL500gp im WDS
Hello everybody,
I tried to figure out my problem without bothering U - but i failed
I'm running a FritzBox7050 as Router and a WL500-gp as AP (AP mode) ind WDS mode. My internetconnection is 2000MBit DSL. no matter which laptop I use (my one, brother, friend) my WLAN connection through the WL500gp is extrem slooooooooooooooooooooooowly.
Connected to the Fritz7050 the WLAN has a DL-rate of about 250kByte/s
connected to the WL500gp it is in the range of 10-40kByte/s
What is wrong about the WL500gp?? Or is this the maximum this box can do??
Thanks for your help!!
No WDS. Can I still connect wirelessly?
Hi
I want to connect my WL500G DELUXE to my 2Wire 2700HG home Gateway as a wireless access point so I can access my Topfield PVR. The ASUS requires entries in the 2Wire wireless set up for WDS but it doesn't support WDS. Is there a workaround?
Thanks
Another WDS and WPA-PSK TKIP solution...
I've been working in two days to make two WL500g talk in a WDS. After hours reading here on wl500g.info I've found several solutions to the problem, but it seems that not all are working. Maybe it's boardrevision og corerevisions that differs how the firmware handles the WPA, I don't know.
Now it seems that my config is finally working.
According to other posts on this forum firmware supporting WPA-PSK TKIP and WDS is 1.8.1.7-3, 1.9.4.0b and 1.9.5.0b. I've tried them all, but none of them were working at first.
* Both routers have hybrid mode.
* Both routers have each others mac adress under remote bridge list.
* Both routers have static IP.
* Both routers are in Access Point operation mode (use seperat DHCP server).
* Both routers have the same channel (9).
* Both routers have same encryption settings (ofcourse).
I've been trying to have different SSID, but when I finally got over this page when I "googled" the problem, the problem was solved!
When telnet to my router and typed this
(I've removed my WPA key and replaced with stars)
Telnet command: cat /tmp/nas.lan.conf
nas -P /tmp/nas.lan.pid -l br0 -H 34954
-i eth2 -A -m 2 -k ******** -s MELING -w 2 -g 0
As described on the link above the WPA will NOT WORK with different SSID because it's a part of the WPA encryption.
When I sat the same SSID (in my case; MELING) on both my routers, it worked instantly!!!
I hope this may solve the problem for others as well.
Other posts on the forum here said that the SSID should not matter for WDS because it's only useing the MAC to connect to each other.
But the WPA seems to do matter about the SSID.
Anyone else have some comment to this?

This one is posted also under the WL500g Premium forum, but made a copy here where it really belongs.

Connected with low speeds
Hi,
I'm also using wds with wpa (AES). I just tried the same SSID and it works perfectly. My only problem is the transfer speeds:
wl-500gp connected to a ADSL Modem:
connects a xbox (wired) and a Notebook 1 (wireless)
with wds
wl-500gx
connects a PC (wired) and a Notebook 2 (wireless)
By example between PC and Notebook 1 speed stays at 150 Kbytes/s
Configurations:
* Both routers have hybrid mode.
* Both routers have each others mac adress under remote bridge list.
* 500gp with static IP and 500gx get from DHCP (from 500gp)
* 500gp in Home Gateway mode and 500gx in Access Point operation mode.
* Both routers have the same channel (10).
* Both routers have same encryption settings (WPA-AES).
Anyone know any way to improve the speed with wds and 2 Asus 500?
