Asus routers firmware restoration procedure:
Valid for the following models: ASUS RT-N13/DSL-N13/RT-N13U/RT-N15/RT-N16 (also for WL-320gP/320gE/330gE/500gP/500gPv2/500W/520gC/520gU//600g)
1 Download and extract the firmware file from zip\rar archive.
2 Install "Firmware Restoration" utility from Asus CD(you can also find this utility in internet ).
3 Log into the router's admin page and reset you router to factory defaults on "System Setup"->"Factory Default" page(do not skip this step, it's very important!), turn the router off and on after rebooting. Check that LAN IP address and Pool reverted back to 192.168.x.x, if didn't, set them manually.
4 Set the following network setting on your computer (in LAN ->TCP/IPv4 section):
IP-address 192.168.1.2 (it actually disables DHCP using) and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
5 Connect your computer to any router's LAN port using pathcord.
6 Turn off the power cord on you router, press the "Restore" button and turn the power cord ON during continue pressing this button(10-15 secs), after this you'll see "Power" LED on the frontpanel blinking continiously.
7 Run the "Firmware Restoration" utility, select the firmware file you want to flash and upload it to your router.
8 You gonna see the progress bar during flashing. Wait until flashing will be completed.(Router should reboots by itself after flashing)
9 Log into the router's admin page and reset you router to factory defaults AGAIN on "System Setup"->"Factory Default" page.
10 Turn off the power cord and install the Broadcom 43222 card, connect the pigtails and antennas.
11 Turn on the router and goto "Wireless" page and set "Bandwidth" to "40 Mhz", "Authentication Method" to "WPA2-Personal" and "WPA Encryption" to "TKIP+AES", apply the settings and reboot the router.
12 Use 802.11n network ;-)
Flashing procedure doesn't depend on OS installed on your computer, you can do it on Win XP\7\8\Linux, doesn't matter. If you still have any questions feel free to ask me via skype\icq.

Just wanted to say a BIG: THANK YOU !
I successfully flashed a WL500gP with the FW r5528.
Now it is with the BCM43222 card installed and two antennae, original ASUS ones, same as the original one, which came with the device.
Working flawlessly on 2.4Ghz. Speed showed in Status of the WiFi is: 121 - 150Mbps.
The Client (W7 x86) uses .. absolutely same card: BCM 43222.

(Flash and check, I made it on a W7 x86 machine, just in case. Used Restoration Tool from Asus).
My next challenge now is to try make it work on 5Ghz.
Any suggestions ? Changing antennae ? Other ?
