did anyone manage to embed a real time clock (e.g. a I2C device or something like that) in the router?
Any suggestions on how to preserve the correct time across reboots without resorting to network or USB?

FYI, wl-hdd has i2c driven RTC on board.

Yes, internal connector has 3 GPIOs wired out.
