Hi All,

I'm new to this forum. Yesterday I installed 1.0.4.6_kc_02a and everything went very smooth.

However, after all the packages installed I rebooted the router and tried to login using ssh and the user created with the web interface, and it failed with "access denied" message.

Another two strange things:
1 - I can't find the "passwd" command
2 - during installation of the dropbear package, although it terminated successfully, there was an error by mkdir saying that it coudn't make /root.

Are this related with my login problem?

Thank you for your help,

P.V.

1) wrong forum

2) do you have modified the etc/passwd opt/etc/sudoers and etc/shells?

then dropbear should work

there is no passwd command... root logins are with the packages not allowed and you have to use the users you have added in the web interface.

Thanks gratitude182.

Yes, sorry but I only noticed that after starting the thread.

I've modified the /etc/passwd to add the /opt/home/pjv directory (home) and /opt/bin/bash as the shell (as per instructions). I've also modified the /etc/sudoers file to add the line

pjv ALL=(ALL) ALL

so that user pjv as all permissions. Is this ok?

However, I've not edited the /etc/shells file. What should be on it?

Thanks again.

P.V.

Edit: Thank you, fixed. The problem was with the /etc/shells file being empty. I've add /opt/bin/bash to it and I can now login using SSH.
