Hello.

I have some problems with this router.

I've tried to get help at Asus but no luck and the people here where I bought it are very "unresponsive" since, as they put it "there's no problem with it" - ie: you switch it on and lights shine, what more do you want? :p

Anyways, this thing worked fine for about two month now but for almost two weeks it either freezes (all leds are on) and resets and it's "new" - ie lost all the settings and asks you to config it again or, if I turn it off and on again it also looses all settings and needs to be setup.

But that's not the worst part. I use it to connect to my ISP through a PPPoE. Since it started freezing and/or loosing settings it can't connect to my ISP through PPPoE. There's nothing wrong, "network wise", sice i can plug the cable directly into any of my computers and i can "dial-in" and works fine. But the asus router can't connect and the error looks like:
"00:00:13 pppd[76]: Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
Jan 1 00:00:13 pppd[76]: RP-PPPoE plugin version 3.3 compiled against pppd 2.4.2
Jan 1 00:00:13 pppd[77]: pppd 2.4.2 started by (unknown), uid 0
Jan 1 00:00:13 pppd[77]: Using interface ppp0
Jan 1 00:00:13 pppd[77]: local IP address **.**.**.**
Jan 1 00:00:13 pppd[77]: remote IP address **.***.***.***
Jan 1 00:00:15 pppd[77]: Starting link
Jan 1 00:00:20 pppd[77]: PPP session is 2005
Jan 1 00:00:20 pppd[77]: Connect: ppp0 -> eth1
Jan 1 00:00:23 pppd[77]: Remote message: ^M^JAccess denied (external check failed).^J
Jan 1 00:00:23 pppd[77]: PAP authentication failed
Jan 1 00:00:23 pppd[77]: Connection terminated.
Jan 1 00:00:24 wan: connected manually
Jan 1 00:00:27 wan: connected manually"

As you see it said that the remote server answers with "Access denied" as in maybe (?) wrong user/pass, but it can't be that. I put in the correct user and pass. It works fine when i connect from a PC.

I hate to have to go to the shop where I bought it and have a philosophical argument on how it is actually useless to me since i need it to distribute my PPPoE network connection. And also said "external check failed" which I have no idea what it means.

Plus it costs quite a lot and it is Asus... I didn't expect it to fail so miserably...

Thanx to anyone who can provide some small insights.
