Hi,
Reading this art. http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/AddaUPSwithAPCUPSD I wonder is it posible to recompile this package (kernel-module-usbhid modprobe usbhid ) to Asus WL-500gP. I like to use UPS to prevent HDD from damage when the power is out.

It can be any UPS with usb port, with rs232 port i need cross in with rs232-usb PL2303 chip, so it can be harder to do.

Sory for my bad english. :(

Look at www.networkupstools.org.
This is a project aimed to support as much UPSes as possible under different platforms and architectures and provide a single interface to clients. It is very flexible. And it can be compiled for WL500g Premium. I use these tools with a USB UPS attached to my own router. (I'm also one of the developers.)
If you have any questions, feel free to discuss them in the project's mail lists:

gr8 project ! I test it on debian 3.1 sarge and works fine, but on Oleg's FW i can't compile it.

Is it posible, to make a ipkg package with 'nut' software?

Thx for answer.

You can compile it natively if you install some packages: buildroot, make, automake, etc. Then the usual "./configure; make; make install".

Of course it is possible. Maybe, I'll add it some time if I have time...
