Hi,

I have tried to build my own homepage on the 700-gE by deleting the files in the web directory.
And offcourse place my own index.html in it.
But it doesn't function when I go to the http://xx.xxx.xxx.xx in the IEbrowser.
I get the error: Page is not found!

Does anybody know what the problem is?
Please help!

Try port 8080 or 8081 etc.

try to ftp the index.html file into your router hard drive.. rather than copy and paste... thats how it worked for me..

You'll have another problem. Every time the router reboots, the startup scripts will overwrite your customized index.html in the "web" directory. The best way is to simply restart the server with a new root directory.

If you're running the custom firmware with rc.local, just put your content into /shares/MYVOLUME1/MYSHARE1/htdocs and insert the following:

# Restart the web server
killall thttpd
thttpd -dd /shares/${pool}/${share}/htdocs -p 8081 -i /var/run/thttpd.pid

Problem one is solved:
With FTP there no problem of storing the files.;)

Now for problem two:
You are so right!
The files are automatic deleted by the router and replaced by the orginal ones...when turning the router off/on.
Must I type the commands given by you in my commandline of WS-FTP?
(nothing happens when I give an ENTER)

I'm a little confused now with changing your own web page as default in use:

I disabled the default photo album, copied the my web page files in photos album like learned from one forum in ASUS but still when entering 196.168.1.1.8081 i get error

The requested URL '/Layout/index.cgi' was not found on this server.

So how is it now. Does getting your own page in use really require some special firmwire or should my web page be built in certain order. I thought this option is supported by WL-700 as a default.

is there simple way the get this one working?

my firmwire: 1.0.4.6

You'll need to install the custom kfurge firmware to relocate the default home page.
