Just when i should try and upload a firmware to the router the power came offline for a minute and now im stuck and cant get access to the router.
I then found this page: http://www.tiedyedfreaks.org/eric/WL-700gE/ and I have tried to install a USB-serial port to my ASUS WL-700gE with little or no success. I have modified a USB-cable (4 pin USB-A) so that i can connect one end to my computer and the other end im modifying to fit to the pin2, 3 and 4 on the board (TX, RX,GND). After that i connected it to my computer and powered on the router i get this error running dmesg:

[ 1465.572000] usb 1-2.3.1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 48

What have i made wrong?

Could someone please help me out since there is no other way for me solve this problem (at least not that I know of).

The problem Im facing, after my power failure, is the ethernet-interface going up and down (both the LAN and WAN-port), it seems i cant keep a networkconnection to the router in more than a few seconds, cant ping the router or get an ip from it.
So it seems as if the router is in some sort of mid-boot-kernel-panic or something like that (the CFE-bootloader portion of the firmware is messed up?). I cant just make out this problem, that is why i really need to get the serialconsole up and running. This also means i cant use tftp to put a new firmware on the router.
