i have an external harddisk on the wl-700g. but now i have problems with the format. i have tried fat32 (but then files bigger than 4 gig won't work) and ext2 and ext3.

but with ext2 and ext3 i can't connect to it, when the hd is on the router. and the drive isn't (ext2 or ext3) in the "foreign_shares" on the router.

it is maybe possible that i can see the drive (with ext2 or ext3) in the foreign_shares, as there is the drive when it is formated with fat32?

thanks for help

btw

1) which format is it, when i erase and format the external disk in the "disk managment"? --> because then partition magic says unknown format...

2) when i format it with the disk managment i can only connect to the external hd whith the router? or am i wrong?

i hope, somebody could help...

thanks

Anything formatted by the router is a reiserfs that should be mountable by any Linux box.

i have tried to mount it sometimes with telnet, but it won't worked. i don't know why. i didn't spend a lot of time to try to get it working.
