Hi All,
I have a WL500gP and there is a problem I'm trying to solve (but obviously I cannot solve it).
When a USB hard drive is connected to the router, the router would no longer be able to maintain the PPPoE connection. As soon as the USB hard drive is removed, it is able to re-connect to the ISP using PPPoE. I tried two different Asus firmwares and the Oleg firmware [1.9.2.7-7g] (this is the one I am using now and it is much better than the ones from Asus for sure).
Below is the log soon after the USB hard drive is connected to the router:
Apr 29 11:16:35 pppd[99]: No response to 6 echo-requests
Apr 29 11:16:35 pppd[99]: Serial link appears to be disconnected.
Apr 29 11:16:36 dnsmasq[69]: read /etc/hosts - 4 addresses
Apr 29 11:16:36 dnsmasq[69]: reading /tmp/resolv.conf
Apr 29 11:16:36 PPPoE: Disconnected
Apr 29 11:16:41 pppd[99]: Connection terminated.
Apr 29 11:16:41 pppd[99]: Connect time 19630155.4 minutes.
Apr 29 11:16:41 pppd[99]: Sent 756876725 bytes, received 1792049806 bytes.
Apr 29 11:17:47 pppd[99]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Apr 29 11:17:47 pppd[99]: Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery
Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Earl
