I have had this router working for the last year but after moving it to another room it seemed to reset itself and I am having problems setting it up to work again.

My isp (http://www.plus.net) requires PPPoA encapsulation
but and it does not seem to work with PPPoE encapsulation. I get a network but no web connection.

What should I use?

Thanks, Tom.

I got in touch with ASUS who told me "WL-500G Deluxe doesn't support PPPOA". I promise you I had this router working for a year and them moved rooms, it reset and hey presto. I'm mad at myself for not having doced the settings when it worked. My isp told me to buy a new router, get a PPPoA compatible one.

I've posted 6 queries on this forum and got replies to 2.

WL500g never supported PPPoA. Do you have xDSL line? If so, your modem should be configured for PPPoA, not the wl500g.

Ah! This is why I can't forward ports. It's because the WL500G doesn't support PPPOA and so I can't bridge the modem to the router.

A shame. Perhaps some firmware alteration can add PPPOA support. Searching.....
