Hello,

I have a WL500gx which is acting very strangely. I recently flashed it with OpenWrt 0.9 and that's when the problems started to arise.

I flashed it with the TFTP method and everything went fine. When I re-apply power, OpenWRT boot's, and everything works - I'm able to use all the features of the unit. But when I pull the power cord and try to boot it again, it won't boot: The Power Led stays on for about five seconds, and then - nothing. I can't access the router over the network, it won't respond to a PING, etc.

The unit, however, successfully enters the flashing mode, if I press the reset button during power-on. I am able to flash OpenWrt, and again - the first boot goes just fine, but the second one gives me only the five-second power-LED.

What could be the cause of this, and are there any solutions? Maybe it has something to do with the flash chip not keeping it's state when powered off? Maybe there's something wrong with CFE?

I haven't connected a serial console yet, nor have I tried any of the PIN tricks. I have flashed it with Oleg's wl500g-clear-nvram.trx, but that didn't help.

Gladly, I can always flash a new firmware, so the unit is not completely wasted, I guess.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me.

Thanks,

Johnny
