Hi,
I'd like to boost the smbd performance and want to test with the parameters in smbd.conf.
When I change this paramters and reboot the box the old smbd.conf is there again.
Ne1 know where my router takes the smbd.conf parameters from at startup?

Has anyone a better config than standard ??

The smb.conf file is created at boot time by /sbin/rc. Most (all?) of the settings come from nvram. In the 1.0.4.6 code this is a binary distributed by Asus. No source code.

If you want to stick with the stock samba, I think your best bet is to make your own smb.conf, copy it to the /tmp/samba/lib, then killall -HUP smbd and nmbd so they'll reconfigure with your conf file. This can all be done within rc.local.
