How much can be stored using flashfs?
Is there a way to check free space?

I'm asking because I'd like to add some executables in there that would start even if /opt is not available.

Thanks, Buld

how can i check free space?

if the wl500gp has 8mb flash am i right thinking that the first 8MB-4MB-64K is the firmware an the rest of it is usable with flashfs?

what happens, when the flash.tar.gz is too big?

can i somehow the how it is partitioned?

edit:

found following messages in boot protocol:
Jan 1 01:00:03 kernel: 0x00000000-0x00040000 : "pmon"
Jan 1 01:00:03 kernel: 0x00040000-0x007f0000 : "linux"
Jan 1 01:00:03 kernel: 0x000ec4e4-0x007f0000 : "rootfs"
Jan 1 01:00:03 kernel: 0x007f0000-0x00800000 : "nvram"
Jan 1 01:00:03 kernel: 0x003e0000-0x007f0000 : "flashfs"

so its exact 4mb for flashfs?

as you can see from your data it is:
0x007f0000 - 0x003e0000 = 0x410000 = 4064kb

(sure, you're right :) )
