hope, I am not posting a question/problem, which was already posted.
Anyway; the problem I try to fix is following:
I have an gb ethertnet network in my house; a routing pc connected to cable modem (upc); in every room, there is a gb switch connecting present computers. unfortunately, i had to put one computer rip (connects to production digital printer) outside of network (in terms of availability of cables).
I would like to use two wireless routers (i have dlink 794du and wl500gP) and to make them work in a bridge mode - they should not create its own networks, but one connected to a switch should extend the ethernet lan wirelesly to other router and make the computer with rip part of existing LAN. I have tried to use wl500gp in wds mode, but it does not get an ip.
Honestly, I am not having any experience with wds networks, and thus your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks a lot

I am not familiar with WDS, but other posts that I've seen in several places suggest that WDS is only reliable when all routers participating in the WDS network are equal (same brand and model) and have the same firmware.
