I would like to add: this is for Windows users only. I you run Linux as I do, just stick to the Web interface of the Asus to upload the new image, and follow the instructions in the bible: http://home.comcast.net/~kfurge/wl700ge.html

Dear all,
Look here: some sort of cook book to upgrade from your fully packed 1.0.4.6 NAS with KC Furge original firmware-patch to the newly published 1.0.7.8 one:
http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/198

The original method with RSYNC has been replaced with plain old copy commands...

Can't wait!

Marc, may I ask you to consider posting the bulk of the content to the Drupal site:

http://wl700g.homelinux.net/drupal/?q=node/134

Please feel free to expand the existing section with whatever detail you think is missing.

I was hoping that putting the documentation on a wiki-like site instead of my own would
enable the community to expand the collective WL700gE know-how with or without me.

See also http://files.wl500g.info/asus/custom/kfurge/ ;)

- K.C.

I will. It's nearly finished, and I will have some spare time next days to polish it a bit. But you know, one might get distracted sometimes with other matters that may happen in a lifetime.
