Hi folks
Can really none of you help me?
If you can use the usb printerport on your WL 500G without admin rights, please tell me. That would also be helpful!
Thanks
Szyfrow
I think, this is more a problem of the "superior" HP printing driver/software than of a router issue.
Does that HP driver support network printing?
If you entered a hostname there instead of an IP address, it won't work, because HP's driver needs admin rights to do a DNS lookup :-O
I had such a problem with a HP Deskjet 6800 series printer and network printing.
HP support was unable to help (as usual?)...
Google is the best support here :-D
Many thanks! I'll explore this lead.
MMCM, Thanks again. While your suggestion didn't solve my problrem directly, your hinting at the printer driver triggered me to poke around in the printer settings. It appeared that unchecking the spooler option made all the difference!
Also, now I understand why another printer definition didn't work: that one I had indeed given a name instead of an ip address.
Still, one question remains: Why can't I use spooling?
