Greetings all.

I have a strange problem occuring after I installed my Linux Server and put it on my network.
The connection is taken down for 1-5 secs with 1-5 sec interval.
This makes it impossible to access the network during these disconnection fits.

It all goes away though as soon as I turn of my new Linux server.. Heh

And after I shut it down I have to reset my router again to be able to access it through wireless. Now this occurs sometimes randomly too though, even before I got the Linux server.

I use my WL500g as an AP outside of an Thompson 516i with 4 compys connected to it, 2 on WLAN and 2 on LAN.
My Asus router is upgraded with the latest firmware found on these forums.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what might be my problem here?

where are you running DHCP server? on wl500g or on linux server?

Neither.. I'm running the dhcp server on my adsl router delivered by the ISP.
The WL500g is setup as an access point and my server is set up as a web server

So, no one got any tips on what could cause this problem?
It's starting to frustrate me now ;)

Okay so now I tried a new approach to fixing this problem.

I have activated the DHCP server on my wl500g again and told it to use my DSL modems DHCP, but act as the DHCP server for my LAN/WLAN.
I forwarded all ports to my wl500g and forwarded the ports to the respective clients within my LAN in the 500g cpanel.

So I now operate with 10.0.0.XX series for the DSL and wl500g connection.
And 196.168.1.XX on my LAN/WLAN with my Linux server as 192.168.1.10 (Set static in Linux). I also added all of my clients MAC-addresses with specified IP-addresses so they won't fight over IP-addresses from the DHCP.

This looked to be stable... For about a day, and now the problems are back again for full

So now I'm fresh out of ideas on this matter...

I found why the link went on and off all the time.. Finally.

It's kinda embarrassing, but it was my TP cable :o

anyways.. My Wireless is STILL acting up.. I have to reboot my router once/day cause it won't let anyone connect to it.

I see alot of others have problems with this too, but no solution :(
