Hi

I'm pretty new to much of this but I have managed to load the Oleg f/w (1.9.2.7) in my new WL500gP and have set up Samba successfully and got most things working after some mucking about.

I have a Philips ToUcam Pro II PCVC840K which also works using the preview image in the browser.

What I don't know how to do and have been searching the forum pages for is how to get the WL500gP to capture an image from the ToUcam (at regular intervals... cron job?) then FTP that image to a destination which is then embedded in a web page. (Is there any documentation of the webcam application?)

Can the WL500gP do that?

....and, is it possible to turn of the red LED on the ToUcam - its so darn bright!

Thanks.

Cya,
Chris

... after searching around I have found two things:

there is a sequence of image files (record1.jpg, record2.jpg.... record5.jpg) in /var/tmp/ which seem to be constantly updated with the latest picture from the camera which (as a test) I have copied out to another directory and would do nicely as my captured image (so far so good)...

....secondly, in various forums I have found a package called ncftp and a command nctfpput which I think (hope) will allow me to do grab one of these images (record[n].jpg) and ftp it off to my web server page.

Am I on the right track?

anyone with a tip on ncftp

Cya,

Chris
