[newb question] connecting to Internet...

Hi !

I just installed the WL-500g and I cannot reach the internet through it :(

my current setup is this :

- DSL ethernet modem (with a permanent web connection)
connected to the WL-500g on the WAN port

- WL-500g uses default IP & submask

- PC#1 wired to WL-500g on port 1, IP 192.168.1.2, 255.255.255.0, gateway : 192.168.1.1

- PC#2 connected to WL-500g via a WL-100g Pcmcia card. IP 192.168.1.3, 255.255.255.0, gateway : 192.168.1.1


The 2 PCs can see each other very well, transfer files & all. Yet none can access internet. :confused:

what have I missed???

what says the log ?

when I click "System Log", there is nothing in the text zone. Clicking the Refresh button yields the same result.

How/where can I activate the logs ?

You can try to reset factory default.
Disconnect Wan cable.
Use your PC connect to LAN port and ping the wl500g by ping 192.168.1.1
It should always have responce even after some days.
If not, maybe a hardware problem, replace it.
My AP will dead after 30min-8hr.

Thanks for your input.

I resetted to factory default then went step by step rather than modifying all settings at once, and now everything works well !
