Hello

I have a problem with the http-Server, when using HDD-sleep mode with hdparm.

I'm using the WL-HDD as HTTP and FTP server and FTP is working without any problem. If the HDD is sleeping at the time, when a FTP-request is received, the the HDD is powered on and everything works fine.

If the HDD is sleeping and a HTTP-request comes in, nothing happens (I'm not sure, if the HDD is powered on). The http-server is not reachable anymore. A reboot of the WL-HDD is needet :(

Does anybody have the same problems or knows, how to handle it?

hello grisu901

i think i have the same problem, but i didnīt get the idea, that it depends on the hdd-spindown.
i will test it the next time, whether it works without the hdd-managment, and report afterwards.

maybe, we find another http-server or another hdd-management for spindown?

At the moment, I don't have time, to make further tests, but I'm pretty sure, that it's a problem with the shutdown of the hdd. Because HTTP access after the reboot of the WL-HDD is no problem. Only after some time of inactivity THTTP makes trouble.

So, now I've tested the following:
- Reboot WL-HDD, THTTP is working, wait for 15 minutes (HDD is sleeping), THTTP is unreachable
- Reboot WL-HDD, THTTP is working, wait for 15 minutes (HDD is sleeping), wake HDD with FTP-request, THTTP is working again

In my opinion, this means, that THTTP is having problems, if it needs data from the sleeping HDD. FTP is more patiently and gives the HDD time to wake up without crashing.

Anybody any idea how to solve this problem? (except from disabling HDD-standby)
