I was looking and looking to this answer, but I can not find it. What is the max size HD the wl 700ge can take?

Thank you

Mont

There shouldnt be a limit as such - only the maximum size that the filesystem supports (in the case of reiserfs 3.5 it's something like 16 terabytes - which you won't hit any time soon :) )

I read that the router will handle well 600GB as maximum, bigger that is not recommended, and a question now.... Is it possible to have write access to an external HD with NTFS? If not which is the recomended filesystem for an external HD with 400GB and bigger capacities and have read/write access?

The router is linux based - so due to microsoft restrictions, it can't write to NTFS partitions. I would recommend the default linux filesystem on an external drive - that is, ext3.

d3viant, what about ext2? should I choose ext3 instead of ext2? is there a way to do that under windows xp? drivers etc?

lol, sorry

u NEVER use the windows partition manager when u have some other filesystem then FAT16/32 or NTFS, the windows partition manager will kill these Partitions without asking u.

use the router to format an external HDD with the Router filesystem (i think u find it under disk managment)
