Hi I have a weird problem. I am unable to create directories with 'mkdir'. I can create files with nano and there wasn't problem building directories in a past. I may have done something what corrupted 'mkdir' function. Anybody have a clue? The only place where I can create directories is /tmp the other attempts end with this: Cannot create directory `aaa': Input/output error:confused: .

It seem that it is connected with tampering with partitions. I have 100GB harddrive divided into big system/data partition and swap partition. I used partition magic to make swap partition bigger from 256M to 2.3G via making data partition smaller. Can partition magic corrupt the ext2 filesystem. Do I have to format the data/system partition, install everything and configure again? I put a lot of effort on making it work well :( .

Just to let you know. In the end I disconnect the harddrive from Asus and run a test in Partition Magic which resolved in corrupted partition. So I backup all configurations, format harddrive and install it all again. Now it works just fine :).
