ASUS tools, i.e. fw restoration, can't connect

Hi,

WL-500gP, FW: 1.9.7.0, WinXP Utilities ver 1670 - all downloaded form ASUS

- Win XP SP2
- I have disabled all other LAN devices except my cable LAN: Intel Pro/1000 MT Mobile Connection

- disabled (stopped services for) McAffe antivirus, BLACK ICE Desktop Protection

- ping 192.168.1.1 ok
- http 192.168.1.1 ok
- tftp 192.168.1.1 ok

- but the ASUS tools:

- Firmware restoration
- Device Dicovery
- Download Manager

ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND AND CONNECT MY DEVICE

Anyone having some problems ??? And maybe also solution ???

Are ASUS tools using special techniques to discover and connect to the router device ??

You are wasting your precious time here. This is the most retarded forum I've visited to find a solution to the most crapiest thing I've ever bought.

Believe me, this is the best forum for WL500g series, I have spent here several hour by reading very useful info and solved my problem without ASUS tools. It's much better to ask somene here than ask ASUS's Bibi at support ... :)

Try to disable external Windows XP firewall for a time...

Oh ***t I completelly forgot about that cause I have BlackICE desktop protection in advance which I of course didn't forget to switch off.
