Hi,

I bought Asus w500g premium router hoping I will be able to share internet access between desktop computer and my new laptop.

Desktop is linked through LAN cable.
Laptop is linked wireless.
Router is connected to ISP with WAN (10/100) cable trough ISP gateway.
DNS is the same ISP gateway.
My ISP doesn't allow MAC adddress to change.
Also in contract is stipulated that I am not allowed to share the connection.

I configured everything in router and for a while It worked.

But what happens is that after some time I cannot do web browsing with the desktop computer. also I lose access to router web interface.
Yahoo msg works or DCC but http is dead.
From time to time I receive some packets and I can
see some web page.
Ping to router and ISP gateway works ok.

On the positive side with the laptop I have full speed access to Internet browsing all the time.I can also access the web interface of router

In disperation I shut down the router and all computers then I restarted and everything worked again, then after some browsing on both computers I shut down the laptop and again I lost http connection in desktop.

I tried connecting the destop directly without the router with old settings and still couldn't reach
any web page.

Also If I replace desktop connection to the router
with LAN connection to the laptop (not wireless) it works.

Can somebody explain to me what is happenning?
I am beggining to thing that the router is ok and the problem resides with the ISP gateway.
Maybe they analyze the packets to prevent sharing connection.
or Maybe they spy my TTL.

Please I need a solution.

Thanks

Maybe you have identical MAC adresses on the router and the desktop computer? Try to change MAC adress on desktop computer (in network drivers properties). In example, the last digits.

BTW, in russian FAQ discuss question, about "how change TTL to =127". If you need, i can try to translate this to English.

P.S. Sorry for my English.
