Since Asus didn't bother to write a real manual for our "perfect" router, I have been looking around for something that explains some of the more advanced features.

Since I understood that our router looks a lot like the WL-550gE router, I figured to look for a manual for that router. And to my supprise, they did bother to make one for this one.

I've found it at:

On Global site (http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/WL-550gE/WL550gE_Manual_Eng.zip)

On Europe site (ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/WL-550gE/WL550gE_Manual_Eng.zip)

The first 10 page or so about the setup, which is covered in the quick setup manual of our router, but after page 10, you'll find several bits that do apply to our router as well.

I was thinking about taking apart that manual and adding some bits for our router. I am pretty sure we'll be able to get much more our of it when we know how to tweak our router.

For this, I would kindly ask your help. There are plenty of people reading this forum and if everyone can help then we'll finally get our money worth.

the manual can be found here:
http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/WL-700g/WL700gE_manual.zip

you can also connect via anonymous ftp (host: dlsvr03.asus.com) and browse the directory contents.

Ok. This one I didn't knew about yet.

However, it seems that they have combined some things from the 550gE manual in here that eare not in our router. E.g. Bandwidth managment.

The pictures are a bit low-res, but on average you could figure out some of the things you want to do on it. But it still doesn't cover many features of your router like the firewall settings or how to modify something reasonable simple as the DHCP serrver.

What do you think? Is it worth working out those parts?
