Hello.

Yesterday I wanted to upgrade my WL-500gP with this firmware: dd-wrt.v23_asus.trx from the default one. However I did not read the instructions and I didnt restore factory settings I just started it in recovery mode and tried to upload the new firmware. It failed. Then I found some topics restoring and tried this: I uploaded wl500g-clear-nvram.trx and it was uploaded successfully then I restarted the router in recovery mode again and tried to upload wl500g-recover.trx but it failed. I also tried uploading all these FWs through tftp but I have come to a conclusion that it always uploads wl500g-clear-nvram.trx but never succeeds with the others two. With tftp command it says it uploaded successfully 800 bytes in 1 second but the original file is a lot more.

I dunno what to do, could anyone help me pls? :(

I get til the fifth point when it does not tranfer all the file (it says tranferred 800bytes successfully or something, but the file is 3MB) And I tried tftping all 3 FWs but didnt seem to work.

Could you tell me the exact sequence of which FWs to upload through tftp? Do I have to upload and cancel all three FW's ?

disable all network connections (firewire too) but the one you are using
and make sure you have a static IP assigned
