Need how to for samba and so on on new Oleg's firmware 7f-pre7
i`ve been folowing both howtos from marcnesium and r0kanon but Samba still not working.
thttpd Web Server and vsftp works fine by mascat.com

hi, I have followed up the tutorial by marc and i find everything working except samba... for samba I used all settings by r0kanon but with some additions. I set up "force user = yes" and to have access from Mac OS X also "encrypt passwords = yes"
DO NOT forget to allow samba demo mode in web interface and to set up the host name in IP settings (ok I am not sure where it is because I cannot access my router yet) also in web interface... now working like charm! so thx guys for good tutorials and for space to learn something :DDDDD

It indeed seems necessary for samba to set hostname. It is done in one of the startup scripts.
This took me a while to find - So I hope this is of help
Host Name can be set in the web interface, on the following page -
IP Config >> WAN & LAN
Scroll to the bottom of the page and place the Host Name in the "Lan IP Setting" section
