This custom firmware image re-enables telnetd in

The next one I release will have a better busybox, and whatever else you guys want me to put in it. I can base it off the newer beta firmware images if you desire. I can port virtually any package to these units, and am making the procedure easy for anyone via updates to my Firmware Modification Kit.

If anyone has any interest in these units, please let me know. Again, my current work is here: http://www.bitsum.com/openwiking/owbase/ow.asp?WL%2D530G#h2 (changing rapidly)

Hello db90h,
what is the difference between this telnet enabled firmware and the latest build from your webpage? As far as I understand telnet is enabled in the latest build too.

best regards robert

I am using PPPoE to access Internet.
My provider requires Service name. Without service name no authorization.
I got Assus wl530g - and of course there weren't this field.
I got also Linksys - wrt54g. Same problem. I installed on Linksys firmware from dd-wrt, and I got that problem solved - using Service name as my provider require.

Unfortunately from support centers (Assus && Linksys) I got similar responses - you don't need this feature*, but I need it.

For some time I used computer (as router) and routers only as access points (which is stupid, but routers have no service name). I installed PPPoE connection on Windows XP, Gentoo Linux, FC6 etc - all the time without Service name - connection refused.

I have some experience with Linux but almost no experience with embedded Linux.

I will greatly appreciate any help with Service name - only don't tell me I dont need it. I need it.
*And a lot of even more stupid "help"
