ASUS + external drive + Apple Mac?

Hi,

I have successfully formatted an external drive in a Safecom enclosure for use with my Asus Wl500gx.

However, I would also like to use the drive with my Mac from time to time. Mac OS X does not natively support EXT2/3 and FAT32 is really slow for me over Samba.

So I was wondering what the best approach may be? Anybody already been down this road?

i'm in your exact position.

as i know there is implementations of hfs+ in linux my biggest question would be if that implementation would be possible on a WL-500gp as well.
