Bekijk de volledige versie : Shell enabling with standard firmware
Does anybody has experience with enabling telnet connection to ASUS WL 500gP thru the telnet port (23) or any other way ?
This is for standard firmware again provided by ASUS (not the one that Oleg is making).
Is there such possibility without reflashing the firmware ?
Thanks !
AFAIK: the standard firmware has no telnet. Only web GUI and commandline GUI.
http://192.168.1.1/Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp here you can reach a backdoor page. You will need a pendrive or a HDD and a telnetd :) I can send you the telnetd file if you give me an email adress.
You can check hdd or pendrive status with command: mount
e.g.: my hdd is on: /tmp/harddisk/part0
You will have to copy telnetd to the drive into /tmp/bin (of course you can use other directory). After this type cp /tmp/harddisk/part0/tmp/bin/telnetd /tmp/ this command copy the telnetd to the router flash memory, after restarting it will be lost. /tmp/telnetd -d -l /bin/sh & this command makes the telnetd run, so you can connect with putty for example.
Just run putty connect to 192.168.1.1 (this is my router ip) on port 23 with telnet you will get a BusyBox.
Hope it was helpful, if you need telnetd I can send you

dakua, if it is not so hard for you to send just another copy of telnetd, plz,
send it to krukhlis [dog] gmail.com
(just remove spaces and replace [dog] with @ -- I realy hate spammers :) )
Thnx in advance.
P.S. As far as I understood, i can have all software that i need on pen-flash-drive constantly attached to USB port, write down automatic installation script(AIS) and run through the Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp following commands( any time after router's boot) to use it
1) mount USB-pen-drive
2) execute my AIS
3) after that i would have ability to play with all req-d software without needs to install alternative firmware?
if yes, please send it to cokeman0 [at] gmail.com
