...for all dummies and noobs...like me. This is a short draft with general settings for the Asus devices WL500g, WL300g and WL160g to extend the wireless range. I know, it is not written in a professional way...but hey I just want to help all network novices. If I have had such a 'DUMMY'-Tutorial certain times ago, i could have save a lot (and I mean really a lot!!) of time. Additionally I have implemented a Wireless MediaPlayer TG100. I hope this short tutorial can be translated to slight different environments with other devices. With the setup which can be seen on the picture, it is possible to use the internet with PC1 and PC2 (With WL500g as the Gateway). And the wireless range is twice as high as if you would use just one wireless device. For me this was absolutely necessary. Although this seems to be easy (for you!!) I have struggled to get this constellation to work. The server software for the Wireless Media Player is installed on PC1. And everything works really fine.
And now I would be really happy if someone could explain me how to install the media-server software twonkyvision on an USB-Stick for the WL500g, so I can listen to Internet Radio Streams (shoutcast) without necessarily turning on my PC. Olegs new Firmware (1.9.2.7-7e) is already installed. And please don't forget: I am a noob
