Glad to hear someone with a similar issue. I secretely minimized the quata for some wireless clients in order to see if it is working. Not one single scream or annoyance from the users when they should with a 10 Kbps throughput for online gaming...
I reverted back to 1.9.7.0 firmware because I was tired of the slow wired access speed. The HDD could only be accessed with a speed of 300 kbyte/s.
I tried all kinds of bandwith management settings, but nothing helped. Accessing the shared HDD from a wireless client worked a lot better with the 1.9.7.2 firmware.
I'm really disappointed in this product and the support we get from ASUS. Right now, I'm no longer using it for downloading torrents. See also the poll about download master.
With the lates firmware if have exactly the same bug:
ftp download wirless: up to 1.6Mbyte/s
ftp download wired: starts 2MByte/s and slow down immediately to about 100kb/s
Must be annother ASUS bug
