Hi

I have red almost last 50 pages of different themes and I also tried to use search, but unfortunately i do not find answer for my problem.

At firsts I was using ASUS firmware. I bought Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB hard disk and put it to external usb box, formatted as FAT32 file system and connected to ASUS WL500G Deluxe. Everything worked ok, I could read and write files via ftp.

Now I installed Oleg's latest latest (1.9.2.7-7e) firmware (by the way nice job) and it seems write permission is now gone. I tried to install Samba (http://www.macsat.com/macsat/content/view/27/29/) but no sucsess. I'm not able to create folder (mkdir /opt/etc/samba):

mkdir: Cannot create directory `/opt/etc/samba': No such file or directory

mkdir: Cannot create directory `/opt/etc/': Read-only file system

So can anybody tell me, what is the solution. I don't want to format disk to ext3 filesystem because I may need to transport external box from one windows computer to another and so on.

I'm very thankful for your kind help.

Greetings from Estonia
Toomas

Anybody? Am I only one who has this kind problem? :(

I have no problems with FAT32 HDD in -7e firmware. Check permissions in USB Application tab in Asus web inteface control. BTW, you can also enable samba support there.

hmm, how is it possible that smb.conf file is totally empty at the moment?:
