XBOX Live over the WL-700g dont work

Hi ,

did some one try to connect to XBOX live over the WL-700g ?
I get a MTU test failed at the XBOX 360. With the WL-500g it looks fine.

It s very important to notify ASUS about this problems.
Send mails to the technical support, you can do this by resgistering in ASUS site as an ASUS Member.

I had the same problem, and I could solve it by disabling the uPnp in the section
IPconfig - Miscellaneous.

Thanks for the tip, Frank. I wish there was another way though. I want to use my network music player and xbox live at the same time, so it's not really the ideal solution for me to have to disable one or the other.

Does anybody have any other workarounds to the xbox-live + upnp problem?

As it turns out, it's not a problem for me after all because disabling upnp in ip config -> misc doesn't stop my Noxon 2 from being able to play the music served up by the media server on the router (!!).

My xbox360 will even play mp3's from the same media server, so long as they are placed in the root of the music share.

the failing mtu



check your dns settings make sure to use 192.168.2.1 if that is gateway IP

also use manual DNS and enter into the 2 boxes the 2 dns ip's your isp uses. (in wan and lan section)

then in dhcp server bit

example of mine
Enable the DHCP Server?
YesNo set to yes
Domain Name: leave blank

IP Pool Starting Address: 192.168.2.120

IP Pool Ending Address: 192.168.2.180

Lease Time: whatever it sets is ok

Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

DNS and WINS Server Setting
DNS Server 1: leave this blank (may also be bug)

DNS Server 2: 192.168.2.1 (i cannot alter this dunno if it's a bug

WINS Server: leave blank


I have 2 xbox 360 running on this with upnp enabled and both achieve nat status of open
