Hey,

Does anyone know how to create new user accounts which can be used with FTP or login on the 'personal web site'?

Right now only an anonymous user account is working for FTP...

Advanced Settings --> Share Management --> Windows Setting

Here you tick "User Based Share Access"

Then you go to

Advanced Settings --> Share Management --> User Management

and start adding users :)

Hey, thanks!

But... is it possible to create only some user accounts for let's say .. FTP? I tried changing the setting, but then I could not connect to the shares on the wl-700gE from XP anymore...

So anyone got it figured out how to keep connecting from XP to the harddisk AND be able to create user accounts for the FTP?

so far i know when you choose for the User Based mode you always need a password for the windows share.

But when this password is equal to your windows XP account it works without asking for a password.
