Hallo,

I use olegs firmware on many wl-500g (1.8.1.7-3) and some wl-500g de luxe (1.9.2.7-7b and c). There are 6 Base station and about 25 clientstation - all are configured in wds mode an wep128. The distances are 50 until 1000 meters - all line of sight with 12dbm omni antenna in centre and 8dbm panel antennas at client side . It worked perfectly (thanks Oleg!!!) for about 18 months .

But 1 month before I got very strage experiences with the first base station :-(. All wds peers to its clients were disconnected. Netstumbler shows only each few seconds (each 5th until 20th second) one single signal line where before was a very good continous spectrum.

I tried differend things. New Accesspoint / other sw / new antenna cable / new antenna ... I got crazy.

In my worst nightmare I find out : if I hold the central omni antenna horizontally - it worked again and Netstumbler shows again a very good continous spectrum. But I don't need an omni antenna horizontally! But as soon as I turn it vertically - it stops any connection promply and again Netstumbler shows only each few seconds one single signal line. I could find a workaround - dont smile - it funktions again if i unscrew the rsma antenna cable so that it is only very very light connected. Am I crazy   :( ??

Today the second base station same topic:eek:   .

May be , i thought, there are noisy accesspoints from neighbours. AND I FOUND THE COMMAND "WL INTERFERENCE"!

I tried all options - and with "wl interference 1" all things were ok!

[admin@APK100 root]$ wl interference
Non-wireless LAN Interference mitigation is enabled.

Does somebody know what this command means? May be it helps you also with your problems - good luck!

I use channel 1, 5, 9 and 13 for area coverage. I know that is not really non overlapping but it has been working for 1 and a half year before!
