Probably it's just me. I have set up smb.conf and can see the (writeable) Samba share in the Network. The share sits on a 80MB external USB2 disk that is formated as FAT32. However, when I connect to the share, I can only read from it, but not write to it nor delete anything.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. The smb.conf is one from a (working) example here in the forums. (I am not in front of my computer right now, otherwise I would post it). I am confident that the smb.conf is set up correctly.

Can anyone help me?

J.

Well, I have solved the problem myself. For future reference: Apparently the line

force user = xxxxxx

indeed WAS necessary.

Oh well, lesson learned ;o)
